"Bringing Medicines" Practitioners' Workshop a Success!

How can a company tap the growing market for pharmaceuticals in developing and emerging countries, enabling low-income patients access to quality medicines at affordable prices? To find answers to this question, 19 participants from pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, and other health-related organizations gathered at the GIZ headquarters for an interactive two-day workshop. Its objective was to support these actors to design and further inclusive business models. The first day focused on developing a compelling value proposition for low-income patients along the 4As – Acceptance, Awareness, Availability and Affordability. The second day concentrated on the health ecosystem, e.g. identifying potential partners. Role plays helped participants to develop an understanding for each partners’ perspective and responsibility.

The workshop closed with a presentation on internal structures that need to be set up to get inclusive business models off the ground. The workshop garnered some very positive feedback! Both participants and facilitators learned a great deal from one another, networking was fruitful, and business plans began to get underway. The workshop will be held again – and can also be held as a personalized training for individual companies. For more information, please visit our website or get in touch with Aline.
