Project Context

German companies are international players. They are export-oriented but also produce abroad. Many companies are highly integrated into global value chains and have outsourced a large portion of the value they create to foreign countries.
While the CSR activities of German companies in Germany are well-documented, we find only few examples of their activities abroad

Project Objective

The objective of the study was to document and analyze the CSR activities of German companies abroad. The study focuses on six sectors. For each sector, we looked at the ten biggest German companies in terms of revenue and employees that report on their CSR activities.

Project Output

End product of the project is a study that encompasses six sector profiles. They document the CSR activities of the biggest German companies abroad: It analyzes the type of activity as well as the issues addressed and provides insight into best practices.
